Call For Paper

The Asia-Pacific Association for Teacher Education (APATE) is pleased to announce its 2025 Annual Conference, which will take place from November 7th–8th, 2025. The conference theme is "Artificial Intelligence in Education: Challenges, Innovations, and the Future of Teacher Education."

Building on the momentum of previous APATE conferences that highlighted groundbreaking developments in the educational sector, this year's conference turns its focus to the transformative rise of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). With AI becoming an integral force in reshaping pedagogy, the conference provides a timely platform for examining its growing impact. In Taiwan, the Ministry of Education has launched the “AI Education × Education AI – Comprehensive Implementation Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Education,” emphasizing the integration of AI across all levels of schooling—from primary to higher education—while promoting digital advancement and personalized learning.

As countries around the globe accelerate their embrace of AI, education systems face critical questions about its implementation and implications. This year’s conference invites researchers, policymakers, educators, and postgraduate students to critically examine the pedagogical, ethical, and policy dimensions of AI in education. Topics of interest include: the application of AI beyond traditional classroom settings; its potential to support marginalized and disadvantaged learners; theoretical frameworks that guide AI integration into pedagogy; and policy measures needed to ensure responsible, equitable AI adoption.

Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts or full papers that address these pressing concerns and explore the next steps for teacher education in the AI era.
